Correlation between salivary CCL28 and secretory immunoglobulin A in healthy humans

Abstract: Objective： To evaluate the correlation between the mucosal epithelial chemokine CCL28 and sIgA level in the saliva of healthy humans. Methods： Unstimulated whole saliva samples were collected. The CCL28 level was determined by ELISA．The salivary sIgA was measured by rate nephelometry assay. Results： In saliva samples of 42 healthy human beings, the mean value of salivary CCL28 was 70.70±40.91ng/ml, and of salivary sIgA was 113.86±54.90mg/L. A positive linear correlation was noted between CCL28 and sIgA in saliva (r=0.540). Conclusion： The mucosal epithelial chemokine CCL28 can promote the secretion of sIgA in saliva.
