Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the correlation between the mucosal epithelial chemokine CCL28 and sIgA level in the saliva of healthy humans. Methods: Unstimulated whole saliva samples were collected. The CCL28 level was determined by ELISA.The salivary sIgA was measured by rate nephelometry assay. Results: In saliva samples of 42 healthy human beings, the mean value of salivary CCL28 was 70.70±40.91ng/ml, and of salivary sIgA was 113.86±54.90mg/L. A positive linear correlation was noted between CCL28 and sIgA in saliva (r=0.540). Conclusion: The mucosal epithelial chemokine CCL28 can promote the secretion of sIgA in saliva.
