Abstract: To explore factors associated with healthrelated quality of life (HRQOL) in patients with HBVrelated liver cirrhosis. Methods: A crosssectional study in which 120 patients′ demographic and clinical characteristics were documented and their HRQOL was conducted by using the Chinese version of Short Form36. The association of HRQOL impairment with clinical parameters was compared between patients and normal persons by univariate analysis and multiple logistic stepwise regression. Results: In all except one domains (mental health) of SF36, HRQOL scores were significantly lower in the patient group than in the control group (P<0.001);Child class was mainly associated with score in Physical Component Summary (PCS) while gender affected both PCS and Mental Component Summary(MCS) score. Conclusion: HRQOL of patients with liver cirrhosis is impaired obviously. The score is further affected by gender and Child class.
