Epidemiological analysis of 26 COVID-19 cases at a designated hospital in Jinan City

Abstract: Objective To describe and analyze the epidemiological characteristics of patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)treated at a designated hospital in Jinan from 0:00, Jan. 23 to 12:00, Feb. 5, 2020. Methods Data were collected using the national unified 2019-nCoV epidemiological questionnaire, a database was set up with Microsoft Access, and data were analyzed with SPSS 11.0. Results A total of 26 confirmed cases were treated. The average age of patients was 31.6(range 2 to 72)years. There were 9 cases(34.6%)with travel history or residence history in Wuhan City 2 weeks before onset, and 18 cases(69.2%)were family cluster outbreaks. Among all cases, 1 was severe, 0 was critical, and no death occurred. Conclusion At present, the patients are mainly young and middle-aged, and the illness is relatively mild. As the number of cases increases, there will be more critical cases.
