Abstract: To explore the intake of energy nutrients and the nutritional status of patients with Alzheimer′s disease and to explore their roles on Alzheimer′s disease. MethodsEighty-five patients with Alzheimer′s disease were selected as the case group and eightytwo health aged adults served as the control group. Basic information and intake of food in the two groups were investigated, data of body weight, body mass index (BMI) and body composition were detected by body composition analyzer (Biospace Inbody3.0), also triceps skinfold thickness (TST), upper arm circumference and lean weight were collected. ResultsIn the case group, average of BMI was 23.58±5.88, triceps skin-fold thickness (TST) was (17.24±3.65) cm, weight of the body fat was (16.41±2.41)kg and percentage of fat was (25.94%±3.79%), which were all significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05). Also intake of calories and protein per body weight kilogram per day were significantly higher in the case group than those in the control group (P<0.05), but there were no significant differences in intake of calories, protein, fat and carbohydrate per day in the two groups (P>0.05). ConclusionIntake of energy nutrients and nutritional status are influencing factors for Alzheimer′s disease.
