Abstract:

Objective〓〖WTBZ〗To analyze the clinical characteristics and risk factors of type 2 diabetics with cerebral infarction in senile patients. 〖WTHZ〗Method〓〖WTBZ〗56 patients with type 2 diabetics and cerebral infarction (group A), 50 with type 2 diabetics but without cerebral infarction (group B) and 79 without diabetes mellitus (group C) were enrolled in this study. Waist circle(Wc), body mass index(BMI), blood pressure, blood fat, blood glucose (BG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C), fasting insulin, leptin and adiponectin were determined in each group. 〖WTHZ〗Results〓〖WTBZ〗Recurrent, multi-focal and large-area infarcts were more common in group A than in group C, and levels of Wc, BMI, systolic blood pressure (SBP) and triglyceride(TG) wereincreased, and density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), apolipoprotein B100(ApoB100), BG, HbA1C, fasting insulin and leptin were decreased in group A compared with group B(P<0.05), while levels of adiponectin were decreased and density lipoprotein(HDL)and apolipoprotein A1(ApoA1) were increased in group A (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that BMI, SBP, TG, LDC-C, postprandial twohour blood glucose(PBG), leptin and adiponectin statistically related to cerebral infarction. [WTHZ]Conclusion〓〖WTBZ〗Recurrent, multi-focal and large-area infarcts are more common in group A. High BMI, SBP,TG, PBG, insulin level and leptin and low adiponectin are potential risk factors of cerebral infarction in diabetics.
