Abstract:

Objective〓〖WTBZ〗To explore the psychological conditions of patients with a cardiac pacemaker after a regular follow-up and pacemaker parameter programming. 〖WTHZ〗Method〓〖WTBZ〗28 patients were randomly selected as the normal follow-up group and were followed up at 3 months, 1, 3, and 6 years after implantation and pacemaker program performance was determined when needed by patients. Another 30 patients served as the follow-up treatment group and were followed up and programmed at 3 months and every 6 months after implantation. Cardiac symptoms questionnaires and symptom checklists (SCL-90) were filled out by all patients at 3 months, 3 and 6 years after implantation. 〖WTHZ〗Results〓〖WTBZ〗There were no differences of cardiac symptoms between the follow-up treatment group and the normal follow-up group. But significant differences were found in SCL-90 scores between the two groups, the former was better than the latter. Degree of depression, anxiety and other symptoms were lower in the follow-up treatment group than in the normal follow-up group (P<0.05). Depression, anxiety and other symptoms of the paced patients were dynamically changed time dependently after implantation. 〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〓〖WTBZ〗Regular follow-up and pacemaker parameter program have positive influence on psychological conditions of patients with a cardiac pacemaker by improving depression, anxiety and other symptoms.
