Abstract: To explore the effect of adenotonsillectomy on behavior disorders in sleepdisordered breathing children. Methods65 children were monitored all night by polysomnography, and their behaviors were assessed by Conners concise symptom questionnaires. ResultsThe ratio of behavior disorder in OSAHS and primary snoring children was higher than that in healthy children, but there was no statistical different between the OSAHS group and the primary snoring group. After adenotonsillectomy the score in Conners concise symptom questionnaires of OSAHS children decreased from 14.2±3.8 to 6.7±3.1(P<0.05) and of primary snoring children decreased from 9.4±4.1 to 5.1±2.8(P<0.05). Behavior disorders were found in 19(52.3%) children in OSAHS children before surgeries but in 6(16.7%) children after adenotonsillectomy (χ2=4.347?8, P<0.05), and they were found in 14(48.3%) primary snoring children before surgeries and in 4 (13.8%) after adenotonsillectomy (χ2=5.263?2, P<0.05). ConclusionThere are a lot of behavior disorders in OSAHS and primary snoring children. Adenotonsillectomy has some effect on them.
