Abstract: o observe the effects of pentoxifylline on pancreas fibrosis in rat. Methods: TNBS in a concentration of 2% was injected into the rats′pancreatic duct to set up the model of pancreatitis. Rats of interventional group were treated with PTX, and the expression of PDGF, αSMA, COL I and PERK1 were determined by using immunohistochemistry technique and HE and Masson staining in some samples 4 weeks later, meanwhile the expression of αSMA was detected by using Western blotting. Results: Pancreas fibrosis was observed in control group, whereas it was not significant in PTX treatment group. Compared with the control, PTX significantly reduced both the content of αSMA, PDGF, COL I and PERK1（P＜0.01）and the pancreas fibrosis proportion（P＜0.01）. Conclusion： Pancreas fibrosis can be inhibited by PTX in rats.
